This episode focuses on what I call ground rules for the utilization and interpretation of the Bible. Maybe this conversation should have been Part 1 of the series because it is so fundamental to any discussion of the Bible. My father, Marlin (the Pastor), again joins me (the Professor) for this conversation. Here are some of the important questions that we tackle. Is it ok to have principles that help us sift through the biblical texts, affirming some messages and raising serious questions about others? Should we be willing to believe or do anything that the Bible says? Is it even possible to believe all of the Bible or live out all of the Bible? Though our ideas are still in process, we wanted to begin this conversation and get it out there for others to think about. In the end, there is only the process when it comes to contending with the Bible, God, and humanity.
